A Very Late First Post of the Year

Hi all

Just wanted to give a quick hello and hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and new year!

OK, OK, I know, I'm a bit late. Lots going on these days.

First, I am still attempting to keep my writing going, although it gets tough to find the time. At the moment, I'm still shopping around one novel to agents, editing a second, and completely rewriting a third. Also, I've been working on some shorter writing again to get myself motivated when I get frustrated with the longer works, which is happening often these days.

Second, in order to find more time to write, I've been giving up a few of my writing activities. There was an online writing group I belonged to, full of some very talented writers, but I felt I didn't have the time I needed to devote to the group so I let it go. I have two other live groups I attend, and I'd love to continue with them, but I'll have to see how things go. If I feel I'm not giving those my all, then I may have to let them go as well. Also, I will not be attending any writers' conferences this year. While I feel I get a lot out of going to them, especially when I submit my writing for critique, I just can't afford to go to any at the moment.

Finally, as for my book blog, I hope to pick that up again soon, although I haven't had much time to read lately either. I promised myself I would review all the books I got from Book Expo America last year, however, and I intend to make good on that promise. It just might take a bit longer than I expected.

Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know what's been going on on my end and to kick start some regular posting on my blog again. Hopefully when I post again I'll be in a better frame of mind, but so far this year hasn't been a good start for my writing. I'll keep pushing ahead though.

  1. I know you are motivated and you have some very good co-author support. When you can make time you will, life happens to each and everyone of us whether we like what it has in store or not. Oliver will meet the world when he's ready until then keep chomping on those vanilla wafers and everything will work out as it should.
